Great Southern Security (GSS) is a proudly South Australian owned and family operated security services business.
Originally established in 2002, the company was handed over to the current owners, Ian and Michelle Haylock, in 2022.
Ian and Michelle have worked hard to ensure that, as GSS moves into its second phase of ownership, it remains true to its core values of being a vibrant, contemporary and innovative security company that maintains a focus on personal service, delivery and integrity.
Whilst based on the Fleurieu Peninsula, we provide security services throughout Metro and Regional South Australia.

Ian has held senior and executive management roles in the South Australian security industry since 2000. He has worked for a number of major security service providers and has a vast network of clients and contacts in the security industry in SA, as well as an excellent reputation for delivering what he promises on time, every time. He is highly experienced in contract and company compliance, contract review meetings, day to day client liaison, continual improvement strategies, profit and loss control, company administration, cost and productivity efficiencies and quality system management and development.

Michelle held operational supervisor roles, and administration roles in the SA security industry between 1998 – 2010 for a number of major security service providers. Prior to this, she spent 10 years as an operational Police Officer with SAPOL. Since 2010, Michelle has worked purely in administration and is highly skilled in all aspects of company administration, such as invoicing, debtor management, credit control, compliance and human resource management.

Adam has worked in the South Australian security industry since 2014. Adam has extensive experience in customer service, project management, change management, Electronics and workforce management. Adam has overall responsibility for operations of the entire business.

Jade has been working with Great Southern Security since 2019 and is the first point of contact to all Great Southern Security’s clients. Born and Raised on the Fleurieu Peninsula, she has great knowledge of the local area and prides herself on connecting with her clients. Jade has completed her Certificate III in Business, with a focus on addressing client and contractor enquiries, assisting with technical issues, and service requests related to all electronic systems.

Recently completed her Year 12 studies successfully, and has started her career in administration with Great Southern Security. Upon finishing off her studies received a curriculum Excellence in Workplace Practices and high marks in Business Innovations.
Emma’s current role involves supporting our management team through daily administrative tasks. Her responsibilities include managing Alarm Responses, compiling monthly and daily reports and manages the companies marketing strategy.
